Slow cooked apple and cinnamon oats

Great recipe to put on at night before bed so you can wake up to breakfast. Also reheats well so you can make a batch and pack it for breakfast during the week

Ingredients:

3 red apples – peeled and diced
2 cups milk
1 1/4 cup steel cut oats
2.5 tablespoons brown sugar
50g butter (cut into cubes)
extra butter for greasing (or just use non stick spray)
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Honey to serve

Method:

  1. Cover the slow cooker with butter or non stick cooking spray

  2. In the slow cooker, toss in oats, apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter and mix well

  3. add in milk and mix making sure all the apples are covered

  4. Cook on low for 6-7 hours

  5. Top with honey when serving
