Great recipe to put on at night before bed so you can wake up to breakfast. Also reheats well so you can make a batch and pack it for breakfast during the week
Ingredients:
3 red apples – peeled and diced
2 cups milk
1 1/4 cup steel cut oats
2.5 tablespoons brown sugar
50g butter (cut into cubes)
extra butter for greasing (or just use non stick spray)
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Honey to serve
Method:
- Cover the slow cooker with butter or non stick cooking spray
- In the slow cooker, toss in oats, apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter and mix well
- add in milk and mix making sure all the apples are covered
- Cook on low for 6-7 hours
- Top with honey when serving
