Persian Rice in a rice cooker

I’m sure Persian mums everywhere will hate that I’m using a rice cooker but it works and it makes this super easy! Great with Persian dishes such as Jooje Kebab

Ingredients:

2 cups of Basmati rice (serves 4)
2 cups water
salt
oil
1/4 teaspoon of saffron – powdered

Method:

  1. Rince/wash the rice and add into a slow cooker with water

  2. Add in oil and plenty of salt (just like cooking pasta!)

  3. Cook for 10-15 minutes until rice has rise but there is still water in the rice cooker. Stir in saffron and mix well into all the rice

  4. Cook for a further 5-10 minutes (until the rice cooker finishes by itself) and serve!
