There is a million recipes out there on how to make the “best” steak. Including slow cooking, vacuum sealing and boiling and a large variety of marinades. The best way to cook steak is to just buy a good cut of steak. There is only so much you can do with a bad cut of meat. For the below I’ve used rib eye
The main points with cooking steak well:
- Meat should be at room temperature – take it out of the fridge an hour or so before you cook it
- Use butter to fry it instead of oil
- season with GARLIC salt and pepper
- do not overcook
Method:
- Season the steaks with garlic salt and pepper
- Heat up butter in a pan or on a BBQ – just enough to cover the bottom.
- Once it is bubbling and the pan is hot, put the steaks on
- Cook for a few minutes depending on how thick the steak is and how rare you want it, turn and cook the other side. Try to minimise how many times it is turned. I cook with the heat on medium-high if I want a medium/well done steak and high if I prefer it rare
